The one piece handle is machined from 316L marine grade rust proof stainless steel with deep diamond knurling to ensure a non slip, safe grip. Safety razors are typically made from low grade metal and then plated in nickel or chrome, however, Ikon razors are made entirely from stainless steel. This is a huge differential as stainless steel is rust free and with no plating to come off, no peeling and no early metal wear. Remarkably in this day and age, the exceptional matte finish is achieved by hand polishing. This iKon uses standard double edge razor blades including Personna, Feather, Timor and Wilkinson Sword. This makes the iKon very economical to use as the blades are so cheap compared to Mach3 and Fusion type blades.
